WhiskyFest New York Panelist Ann Miller
As an International Brand Ambassador for Chivas Brothers, Ann Miller communicates with passion the unique story of Chivas Brothers and its Scotch whiskies to audiences from around the world. With over 20 years experience in the Scotch whisky industry Ann undertakes programmes of training and tutored tastings in three languages both overseas and in Scotland. In addition she organises Chivas Brothers’ contribution to the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival, now in its 10th year, and a major attraction for consumers and experts visiting Speyside.
Ann is fluent in French and Spanish and has a degree in modern languages from the historic University of St Andrews. She also has a post graduate diploma in marketing and public relations. Prior to joining Chivas Brothers, Ann was a key member of the team that put the Scotch Whisky Heritage Centre in Edinburgh’s Royal Mile on the map. From 1993, when she first joined Chivas Brothers, Ann managed trade and press visits to Scotland as well as the company’s hospitality facilities at The Glenlivet, Glen Grant and Strathisla Distilleries, as each in turn was refurbished for the benefit of trade and consumer visitors.
Since 1996 Ann has worked as an International Brand Ambassador, initially with The Glenlivet and Chivas Regal and, since joining Pernod-Ricard in 1999, with Aberlour. As Pernod Ricard’s portfolio has expanded so has Ann’s repertoire, which now encompasses the entire range of Pernod Ricard’s brands.
Ann’s interest in Scotch whisky is matched by her interest in Scotland, its history, culture and natural heritage. Away from work, Ann enjoys outdoor activities, travelling and listening to music and is a Partner in the family Farm where her husband grows barley and which overlooks Ben Rinnes, from which Aberlour Distillery draws its water.
