Jackalope

Raspberries anchor this cocktail, created by Chelsea Harkness, bar manager at 1921 by Norman Van Aken in Mount Dora, Fla. “Plump sweet-tart raspberries lighten the molasses and allspice notes of the bourbon to create a refreshing cocktail,” Harkness says.

INGREDIENTS

  • 6 large raspberries
  • 2 oz. High West American Prairie Bourbon (or other bourbon)
  • ½ oz. Heering Cherry Liqueur
  • 3 dashes Bittermens Xocolatl Mole bitters (optional)
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • 1 orange peel

DIRECTIONS

Muddle raspberries in a mixing glass. Add bourbon, cherry liqueur, and bitters. Stir with ice. Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice and garnish with orange peel.
