Whisky Advocate magazine’s self-appointed champion of beer and the mechanics of taste, Stephen Beaumont has been writing about ales, lagers, spirits, food, and travel for over two decades now. He contributes regularly to a wide variety of publications, from Fine Cooking to Nation’s Restaurant News and Ale Street News to Flavours, and has authored, co-authored, or contributed to eleven books, including The World Atlas of Beer, co-authored with Time Webb and due to be published in the spring of 2012.

When he is not writing about or tasting beer and spirits, Stephen travels the world talking about them, whether at a beer dinner in Atlanta, a tutored tasting in Anchorage, a beer festival in São Paulo, or a whisky dinner at beerbistro in Toronto, the landmark beer cuisine restaurant and bar he co-founded. Stephen resides in Toronto, which really isn’t as far away as you may think, and counts as his greatest accomplishment convincing the lovely Maggie to be his bride.
