This classic whiskey cocktail, made with just sugar, citrus, and bourbon, is a perfect match for the richness of a chocolate pecan pie.
- 1 tsp. fine bar sugar
- ¾ oz. freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 2 oz. bourbon
- Garnish: Lemon peel and maraschino cherry (optional)
Add fine bar sugar, lemon juice, bourbon, and ice to a cocktail shaker. Shake vigorously and strain into a rocks glass filled with ice. Garnish with a lemon peel squeezed over the cocktail, rubbed along the rim of the glass, and dropped into the drink along with a maraschino cherry.
Top Tip: A fresh Whiskey Sour is so simple and delicious, there’s no reason to use sour mix. To add a silky texture and frothy foam to your sour, try adding a teaspoon of fresh egg white to the shaker.
