Friday’s Pick: Compass Box Canto Cask 46

January 11th, 2008

Compass Box, Canto Cask 46, 53.2%, $65
Aged in new French Oak cask heads with a long toasting. Deliciously creamy, sweet toasty profile, with coconut cream, toasted marshmallow, toffee pudding and honeyed vanilla. Gentle spice notes (especially clove) and hints of fruit dance on the palate. Very soothing. (Bottled for Park Avenue Liquor)

  1. John – Canto is a very interesting project. The info provided on the compass Box website is outstanding (especially on the PDF file) – A little info – there are 16 Canto Casks around the world but if you are looking for one in any part of the Americas (North and South!) there is only one and it is Cask 46.

    Cheers – Jon

That’s right Jon. And here’s the website address for Compass Box if anyone is interested: http://www.compassboxwhisky.com

  3. William Meyers says:

    Dear John,

Keeping with the Compass Box theme – have you tried Morpheus, bottled for Milroy’s?

    Cheers,

    Bill

  4. John Hansell says:

I have not. Anyone else out there (possibly from the UK) try Morpheus and care to chime in with your thoughts?
