Here’s the video link of my live webcast with Laphroaig and Maker’s Mark

For those of you who missed the live webcast at the Maker’s Mark distillery Friday night, here’s the video link so you can watch it now.

The live webcast featured Distillery Managers John Campbell (Laphroaig) and Kevin Smith (Maker’s Mark) and me at the Maker’s Mark distillery. We tasted some of the Laphroaig single malt scotch line (10, 18, 25) along with Maker’s Mark bourbon. We also taste some cocktails and food made with whiskies from both distilleries.

There’s lots of great stuff in this webcast. I think you’ll enjoy it and maybe even learn a thing or two.

    Great stuff. I watched the whole thing (as posted in review), although I have to admit that I got slightly distracted at a few points. I need (and want) to watch it again. One issue did jump out at me.
    I had asked a question a few years ago on another forum, under another name, about “international blends”. Disappointingly, the discussion never really took off. It also seemed to be brushed off at this event. You also asked a similar question on your blog a while ago (too lazy to search for the exact post right now). Personally, I’ve had mixed (no pun intended) results. I recall a particularly good blend of a flat 16 year old G&M Glenlivet with Bulleit Bourbon. It just worked. But also several others that were clearly less than the sum of their parts. But I guess the point is that “blending” different types of whisk(e)y from different countries seems to be unexplored territory. Why? This could be one of the (major) upsides of globalization.
