Ampersand Opimus 15 year old Tokaji Wine Cask Finished, 58.3%

Sugar cookies, raspberries, fig cookies, and cola rise from the glass with a hint of overripe banana and varnished oak in the background. With time, bitter fruit and oak come through on the palate, led by grapefruit, fresh cranberries, and toasted maplewood. The palate is similarly jam-packed, vacillating from sweet cherry pie to citrus pith, over-steeped tea, and barrel char. The finish is of moderate length and quite tannic and oaky. Tasty, but perhaps could be a bit more cohesive.
