Each year, head distiller Ashok Chokalingam selects a single cask to bottle for this release. This shows off some of Amrut’s finest characteristics, including a nose redolent of rich chocolate cake, gingerbread, and black tea, plus a fine dusting of pepper. There are flavors of dark fruits, chocolate, pepper, clove, and gingerbread, the spices are admittedly quite punchy, but then it glides into a lengthy finish of chocolate-dipped brambles and pepper.
