Sea spray, sanded oak, marzipan, vanilla, and smoked orange peel aromas, with generous peat smoke, black currant mousse, and leather boots left to dry too close to a campfire. Finished in amontillado sherry casks, this thick-textured second Y2K release carries flavors of toffee, pepper, salted caramel, lemon throat lozenge, cinnamon sticks, and clove. The smoke verges on acrid at times, with a dry finish of eucalyptus and sooty embers.
