Bardstown Bourbon Co. Discovery Series No. 12, 57.6%

A blend of six bourbons aged 9-14 years that was finished for 17 months in cabernet sauvignon barrels from Silver Oak winery of Napa and Alexander Valley. Cinnamon bun and cookie dough on the nose, followed by a palate offering orange, dark chocolate, and spice. The ABV is high and it needs water, but there’s good length on the finish, where those chocolate and spice notes really come out to play.
