Bardstown Bourbon Co. Distillery Reserve Cathedral French Oak Barrel Finished Blend of Straights, 55.05%

A blend of five bourbons that was finished in barrels sourced from Loire Valley’s Bercé Forest, whose trees were used to rebuild parts of Notre-Dame Cathedral after its fire in 2019. There’s fantastic baking spice on the nose, accented by Luxardo cherry, sweet berries, new leather, and orange peel. Rich spice is immediately apparent on the palate, with more cherry, accented by dark chocolate, Werther’s Original, and a faint hint of root beer. Spice, cherry, and caramel sweetness take it all home.
