The nose starts with caramel-coated shortbread sprinkled with sea salt, then opens to reveal crushed almonds, raspberry jam, grilled pineapple, and a whiff of sweet peat smoke. Those raspberries explode on the palate, which is fruity and sweet but counterbalanced by brine, nuts, and smoke. The texture is oily and a bit waxy, mouth-coating and lush without being heavy: a slithering snake indeed, and pure elegance. (500 bottles for the U.S.)
