Blade and Bow 22 year old, 46%

Diageo’s annual ultra-aged bourbon release, sourced from unnamed Kentucky distilleries and matured in a solera system. Lots of aged barrel on the nose, and buttery on the palate, with some red fruit notes slowly emerging. More oak and dry ashiness on a mid-length finish, the oak tannins nicely restraining some of the chocolaty sweetness and balancing flavors of grape jam and coconut flakes. The maturity on this one certainly is front and center.
