The second annual release in master distiller Nick Savage’s five pillars series marries whisky from re-charred butts with first-fill bourbon barrels from their amontillado solera tun. It’s bright with peach, pear, orange, fruit compote, and vanilla aromas. The mouth-drawing fruitiness presents caramel-drizzled baked orange, grilled pineapple, and almond, with a surge from cask strength alcohol before stone fruits, gingerbread, and a finish of cinnamon-spiced orchard fruit.
