Bobby Garg Family Reserve, 51%

The namesake label of Bobby Garg, a U.S. importer of Indian spirits, including Rampur whisky, is made at an undisclosed Kentucky distillery from a mashbill of 74% corn, 18% rye, and 8% malted barley. The nose is dry but pleasant, with lots of ginger root, gingersnaps, oak, sassafras, candied jalapeños, and a bit of chocolate. Vanilla cookie batter, brownies, cola, and peppery heat all make an appearance on the palate. The finish adds grape jelly, oak, and chocolate chips.
