This 7 year old whiskey is for dessert devotees straight from the jump, as hazelnuts, pound cake, buttercream frosting, strawberry cheesecake, blueberry pancakes, maple syrup, and vanilla extract waft from the glass. The palate is wickedly hot, but beneath the initial heat there’s cocoa powder, hot fudge, and cacao nibs. That chocolate remains on the dark and delicious finish, which is long-lasting and has rich notes of Andes chocolates and campfire char.
