Bruichladdich The Laddie Rye, 50%

The first-ever rye from Islay in broad release has a mashbill of 55% Islay-grown rye and 45% Islay-grown barley, and was matured for 7 years. Herbal and fragrant on the nose, leading to a rich, mouth-filling palate with vanilla, blueberry, and figs. The fruit flavors work well with oak, spice, and herbs. The finish reveals perhaps too much oak, but the overall flavor integration is excellent.
