Many distilleries have haunting stories. Southern Grace Distilleries, built on the grounds of a former prison in North Carolina, has been frequented by paranormal investigator Steve Gonsalves of the TV show “Ghost Hunters.” In San Antonio, Maverick Distillery loves to regale fans with its ghost encounters. And then there’s the story of an Old Crow worker who fell to his death through an open elevator shaft in 1908—the ghost stories that followed were featured on Travel Channels “Ghost Asylum” in 2016. This Halloween, Buffalo Trace invites you to add a little fright to your whiskey with a tour of its own resident ghosts.
Buffalo Trace’s A Night at the Distillery is a self-guided tour that will run from October 23-25 and again from October 30-November 1. Reservations are required for the 10-minute time slots running from 5:30 p.m. to 8:10 p.m. Each ticket is $35 and includes the self-guided walking trail tour, three cocktails, one neat pour, a snack, a 1-liter bottle of Sazerac rye, and a tote bag. Tickets are going fast. Enter here.
For those looking to add a bit more haunt to their Halloween night, the distillery is offering a sweepstakes for one lucky winner and a guest (both must be 21+) to tour the grounds alongside paranormal investigators, dinner, a one-night stay at Albert Blanton’s former home Stony Point, a distillery tour, and round-trip airfare and transportation to and from the distillery. Enter here for a chance to win beginning today at noon through October 22nd.
