Matured in oloroso sherry butts from Jerez, Spain, this was distilled in 1978 and was the oldest Irish single malt whiskey at the time of its release. Aromas of roasted coffee, walnuts in syrup, ground cinnamon, dark chocolate, nutmeg, and bitter oak. Dark and syrupy, with flavors of walnut, treacle, sultana, black cherry, and cinnamon, rounding off with maple syrup, marron glacé, dried apricot, blackened oak, and coffee grounds.
