The Karakasevic family began making whiskey at its Charbay Distillery in California 1999 primarily from bottle-ready beer. This one blends custom-brewed straight malt, Pilsner beer, and Big Bear Black Stout. Lemon, clove, allspice, and more citrus on the nose. The palate is soft, with roasted coffee beans and lemon meringue pie. Sweet and savory notes, earthiness and pepper spice. Long and tasty finish, with coffee, dark chocolate, char and lingering citrus. (Release date: 2009)
