The sherrywood influence is lavish but not overdone on this whisky from 1979, finished in a 30 year old González Byass Apostoles sherry cask. Creamed honey, rich fruitcake, baked peach, cherry candy, mixed peel, and roasted peppercorn on the nose. It’s a mouth-coating dram with rich marmalade, vanilla pod, dark chocolate, cocoa-dusted blackberries, citrus peel, raisins, and chocolate orange frosting. (150 sets; price per 3-bottle set)
