Finished in calvados and port casks, the nose has a clean, fresh vitality with aniseed balls, red apple, and morello cherry. It opens up beautifully in time, with ripe nectarine, honey, vanilla, and fresh apricot. Caramel, dried apple, dark chocolate, pink grapefruit, Oreo, black licorice, and vanilla pod on the palate. The fruit fades to leave leather, tobacco, and a finish of dry oak and almond. Water coaxes out citrus notes.
