Deanston 2002 20 year old Organic American Oak, 49.7%,

Aged in re-charred oak casks. Sweet and soft on the nose; scents of a lemon grove are balanced by a hint of tobacco leaf, cinnamon, and perfumed oak. The palate is also soft, with buttered toast, peach, a gooey mouthfeel, and viscous texture enhancing the pleasure. A long, spiced finish shows rich vanilla, crème brûlée, pastry frosting, and cantaloupe. Excellent flavor and texture, perhaps could use more depth, but delicious nonetheless. (Release date: 10/24)
