Dram Hunter 14 year old (Ledaig, distilled at Tobermory) 2007, 57.2%

Price: 185 Issue: Spring 2022 Reviewer: Jonny McCormick Category: Single Malt Scotch

This cask-strength Ledaig has a lot to say for itself: aromatic peat smoke, coal sacks, griddled bacon fat, green olives, slabs of cut peat, ozone, salty meat rubs, and a little barley sweetness. Quite tempestuous: Clove and pepper send shockwaves through the initial peat smoke, infused with a fruit medley of lemon, lychee, melon, and lime. The finish leaves you mulling over milky caramels, dark fruit, chocolate, and smoke. (178 bottles)
