E.H. Taylor Cured Oak Bottled in Bond, 50%
Price: ● Issue: Fall 2026 ● Reviewer: Julia Higgins ● Category: Bourbon/Tennessee Whiskey
A coveted release, this was matured in barrels built from white oak staves that were air-dried for 13 months, more than double the standard six-month curing time: That draws out more barrel influence in the glass. On the nose, this means gooey tendrils of caramel syrup, burnt sugar, Rolo, vanilla bean ice cream, and some nuttiness. The palate sees more of the same, along with cherry compote, Heath bar, nutmeg, and nougat. More cherries and vanilla on the finish, as well as lush chocolate.
