No rye was peated in the making of this whisky. It acquires its peaty character through four years in Laphroaig casks after an initial three years in refill Chateau Ausone barrels. Slightly burnt chocolate brownie, peat slabs, sooty charcoal, and dried seaweed mask aromas of purple fruits and Seville orange marmalade. It's like tasting a smoked fruit liqueur with strawberries in cream, plum, cherry, creamy caramel, and peppery spices. (2,400 bottles)
