Four Roses 7-9 year old Single Barrel Collection OESK, 50%
Price: ● Issue: Summer 2025 ● Reviewer: Julia Higgins ● Category: Bourbon/Tennessee Whiskey
Last year, Four Roses announced it would start bottling each of its 10 recipes as their own single barrel releases (previously, only its OBSV recipe had made the cut). This is made from the distillery’s mashbill E (75% corn, 20% rye, and 5% malted barley) and yeast strain K, which yields aromas of caramel, cinnamon, sweet cream, and red fruit. A hefty serving of cinnamon spice comes on the palate, which has a nice uncomplicated feel and plenty of bright red fruit with raisin. The flavors linger on the finish, and overall, this would make a great entry point into single barrels for the uninitiated. (Release date: 1/25)
