Frey Ranch 6 year old Smoked Grain Series, 55%

Nevada farm distillery Frey Ranch’s first single malt release, aged 6 years and 7 months from grain smoked on the ranch with “peat” made from decomposed plant matter. Earthy on the nose, with fragrant perfumed wood. The palate is light with notes of blackberry pie and tart oak. Chocolate and berries shine through, with more oak-influenced tartness. Nice length on the finish, showing new leather and bright red fruit.
