Extremely dark—the color of Coca-Cola—with a rather herbal nose. The taste of charred peanuts and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups joins with clove, sticky toffee, and bread pudding from this bonded whiskey, distilled and aged in Hye, Texas, where the summer weather is hot and dry, and the winters are cold. Water brings out some flinty notes without suppress- ing the strong and persistent peanut flavor. The finish is chewy.
