The influence of a port cask muscles its way right to the front. The nose kicks off with Whoppers, pomegranate seeds, and vanilla, with barrel char and ash playing supporting roles. Even more char on the palate, where there’s a meaty, gamey quality, but it’s tempered by jammy raspberry and hot spice. Ultra-ripe berries, spice, Black Forest cake, vanilla pudding, and a lick of anise make for a flavorful finish.
