Teetering on the edge in terms of strength, here’s another ancient ‘Farclas. A powdery opening leads into roasted almond, dried black fruit, and a hint of meatiness and that light smoke. Complex, but robust. The palate has a slight fragility to it—the age showing—but a drop of water restores its vigor, allowing those rich, earthy tones to come through. £1700
