Glengoyne Oak Masters' 24 year old White Oak, 47.8%

Price: 400 Issue: Summer 2025 Reviewer: Julia Higgins Category: Single Malt Scotch

This new series sees the Highland distiller move in a new direction—one that puts the spotlight on American white oak as opposed to sherry casks for maturation. The results are superb; on the nose, there’s all manner of fruit, ranging from passion fruit panna cotta to Juicy Fruit gum to dried mango, plus a little honeyed sweet- ness and cinnamon spice. Rich chocolate emerges on the palate, bringing to mind chocolate ganache, cocoa powder, and chocolate pudding. Chocolate sticks the landing on the finish, though tendrils of fruit and spice also remain. (Release date: 3/25)
