The initial impression of this 70 year old sherry puncheon-matured whisky is lots of oak and clove on the nose, with antique shop, musty spices, licorice, treacle, cigar stubs, vanilla seeds, coffee, aniseed, and worn leather. A viscous mouthfeel with flavors of Banoffee pie, walnut, mandarin, vanilla pod, cocoa powder, tobacco, black cherry, oak tannins, grilled banana, and bitter dark chocolate. The finish brings oak and chocolate espresso. Worth experimenting with water. (130 bottles)
