A supremely high-rye mashbill (94% rye/6% malted barley) gives this plenty of spice, but it’s also rich with vanilla, lemon curd, and Peach Snapple on the nose. Aged oak, bread pudding, and blackberry coulis are pronounced on the palate, which holds its proof well even as peppery spice takes over. More pepper follows on the finish, as well as some fruitier notes, making for a tasty if somewhat short ride.
