Hayashi 24 year old Ryukyu, 43%

Distilled in Okinawa from long-grain Indica rice and black koji, it has an aromatic nose of perfumed oak, jasmine, rose petals, tea leaves, caramel, sugar glaze, and lemon sorbet. Citrus takes the wheel on the palate and finish, offering lemon peel, marmalade, and Jaffa cakes amid other flavors of baking spice, incense, florals, and subtle oak. It’s certainly light on its feet, but flavorful nonetheless.
