Heaven Hill 13 year old Deatsville Commemorative Edition (Rickhouse AA Floor 3), 54.5%

The mashbill (78% corn, 10% rye, and 12% malted barley) is the same recipe used for many of its other bourbons, including Elijah Craig and Evan Williams. On the nose, there’s tobacco, clove, baking spice, earthiness, oak, and toasted marshmallow; an intriguing mix. The palate is well spiced and a tad heavy onthe wood, but it’s balanced by a pleasant heaping of vanilla frosting. The finish runs hot, and carries on for quite a while, led by spice.
