Heaven Hill Distillery 90th Anniversary 9 year old, 53.5%

Honoring the distillery’s nine decades of whiskey making. The nose is sweet, offering vanilla ice cream with vanilla-frosted birthday cake, and coconut. A viscous mouthfeel and a fairly spicy palate, but with luscious notes of chocolate. A long finish offers more chocolate and flavorful undertones of raspberry jam, enhanced by baking spices and wood spice. A bit too spicy at times, but a solid expression.
