Hinterhaus Calaveras Cask Strength Single Barrel Reserve Wine Barrel Finished (Batch 16), 61%

Finished in a variety of local wine casks from California’s Calaveras County, this has an interesting nose of fresh peaches, grapes, cut stone, clementines, plums, and honey buns. The palate brings heat with cracked pepper, cinnamon, more peach, and oak, all of which linger for a long finish that also adds flavors of coffee and lime. The wine cask influence is noticeable at times, but it’s well-balanced against the base whiskey.
