Initially matured in rye barrels and finished in PX and oloroso sherry quarter casks, this has a cushion of lush sherry notes, burning heather, earthy peat, and hints of chocolate and espresso. There’s plenty of intensity between the fruit and the smoke. Lots of cooked fruits on the palate, with cherry, plum, leather, red pear, clove, and black pepper showing just how powerful those sherry quarter casks can be.
