Isle of Raasay Hungarian Oak, 50%

Price: 110 ● Issue: Fall 2026 ● Reviewer: Jonny McCormick ● Category: Single Malt Scotch

Fully matured in tight-grained Hungarian oak oloroso sherry casks, the nose revels in marmalade, crystallized ginger, cinnamon, roasted spices, barbecue smoke, and a hint of menthol. Roasted chestnut and cacao nib aromas emerge later. This drinks beautifully without water, showing gingersnaps, marmalade, walnuts, dark chocolate, coffee bean, and light peat smoke. The nose and palate correlate closely, wrapping up with a finish of spicy smoke and chocolate orange.
