On the nose, there’s fig, old leather, dark maple syrup, pecan, peppercorn, black tea, and a hint of prune, with date, antique wood, cacao, briar pipe, and dark roasted grains. A syrupy mouthfeel with maple syrup, leather, molasses, cocoa, prune juice, maltiness, date, spices, dark chocolate, blackberry, plum skin, and well-fired fruitcake. Despite the ABV, adding water really works well here to open up the flavors. (1,200 bottles)
