A blend of eight rare and closed malt and grain distillery whiskies, the nose shows butterscotch, clotted cream, graham crackers, heather twigs, Earl Grey tea, seasoned oak, and wisps of smoke. Initial oiliness, with red apple, pomegranate, dried raspberry, black pepper, menthol, aniseed, and cinnamon on the palate. The structure fades away, leaving soft caramel, filo pastry, brine, black tea, and a hint of Cashel blue cheese. Delicious, but there are finer Johnnie Walker expressions out there.
