A musty nose, calling to mind an old library book or dusty attic. It only grows drier; there’s yeast, paper bag, and sliced potato bread. The first signs of char come on the palate, which is light in texture but potent with smoldering coal ashes, blackberries, black coffee, and baking chocolate. Even more smoke comes through on the finish, and it pairs wonderfully with the dark chocolate, coffee grounds, and a dollop of whipped cream.
