Distilled in Chicago from 65% applewood- smoked malt and 35% unsmoked malt. The nose has a barnyard-like graininess flanked by sesame seeds, Asian barbecue, and industrial smoke. Smoke dominates the palate, with burnt ends, savory charcoal smoke, brisket, and campfire embers. The smoke lingers on the finish, blanketing layers of peach, mint leaf, oak, and browned apples. This has interesting qualities, but the smoke overpowers and obscures some of the other flavors.
