Kilchoman 14 year old 20th Anniversary Cask Series 100% Islay Ex-Sherry Butt Matured, 55%

In celebration of its 20th anniversary, Islay’s Kilchoman Distillery released four distinct single malts, each one a blend of five casks. On the nose, this one has notes of brown sugar, graham cracker, and dried fruit, with that classic Islay smoke enticingly entwined. The ashy palate calls to mind campfire coals and tobacco smoke, but there’s delicious dark chocolate and more dark dried fruit. The finish is lengthy and bursting with spice, meatloaf glaze, and, of course, that delicate sweet peat.
