Kilchoman Loch Gruinart, 46%

Price: 55 Issue: Fall 2025 Reviewer: David Fleming Category: Single Malt Scotch

A more affordable Kilchoman, this is a blend of 4-6 year old peated single malts aged in a mix of bourbon and European oak sherry casks. Muted maritime salinity, well-integrated peat smoke, hot bacon fat, dark chocolate, orange, and fresh-squeezed lemon on the nose. The peat recedes a bit on the palate, making room for lemon meringue pie, blueberry, and pepper spice. Nicely textured and viscous, with the finish tailing off a bit.
