Killowen Rum & Raisin, 55%

Distilled at Great Northern Distillery, this is initially aged in bourbon barrels before being finished in PX sherry butts and Killowen’s own dark rum casks. The nose has fig, prune, vanilla extract, raisin, toasted coconut, leather, and licorice. It starts out pretty hot, bringing flavors of warm gingerbread, raisins, dates, walnuts, fig roll, fried sweet plantain, and pecans, exiting with menthol, peppermint, caramelized brown sugar, and chewy dates.
