Kujira 10 year old White Oak Virgin Cask Ryukyu, 43%

The nose has oak char, bread crust, and hints of dried fig, roasted sweet potato skins, and white pepper. Without cask seasoning of some nature, the new oak doesn’t contribute as much flavor compared to bourbon or sherry casks. Flavors of creamy fudge, Nutella, pepper, clove, baked plum, peanut brittle, sesame bars, brown sugar, cinnamon on baked apple, and sloe jam, with a slight tannic finish.
