Price: 275 Issue: Winter 2022 Reviewer: Jonny McCormick Category: Japanese Whisky

Matured in sherry, bourbon, and American white oak casks, this is delicately scented with plum, cherry, black currant, floral notes, gentle honey sweetness, pepper, and clove. It retains that dewy grass note of rice whiskies. Ripe plum, mouth-drying in the grip of the oak tannins, then leather, baked sugar, stewed fruits, fig, baking spices, and some sticky sherry notes, with fruit skins and peppery spices on the finish.
