From the first pour, Kirkinriola is bright, crisp, and fruity. The nose has layers of apples, peaches, dried pineapples, and berries spooned over lebkuchen and marzipan. Bananas Foster and peach melba vie for the spotlight while lemon meringue, vanilla frosting, and butter scotch hold down the chorus line. With water, the whisky reveals gingersnaps, toast with sugar, and a soft nuttiness before winding down through a long finish overflowing with banana split and espresso.
